#97: of VJ Samsonite's Top 100 80's Dance Hits Countdown!

Welcome back to VJ Samsonite's top 100 80's Dance Hits Countdown! Today we are presenting #97 of the top 100 countdown! And the song is....Smalltown Boy by British synth-pop trio Bronski Beat. And now we are starting to really get into it folks, you just don't know how hard it is to order them, so don't pay too much attention to the order of songs til I get down to about the top 25 or so. This band was no doubt a 2 hit wonder with this song, which was released in 1984 (off their Age of Consent Album) and reached #3 on the UK, #1 on the US Dance Hits Chart (and #48 on the US pop chart) and registered on the charts of multiple other countries that same year; as well as the song Why which comes off the same album. Smalltown Boy and Why have both been remixed and re-sampled by various DJ's in recent years, including the DJ duo Supermode, and their hit Tell Me Why dance/house remix of both of these songs in 2006.
