Under Neon Movie Reviews: 'Rawhead Rex' (1987)

This movie is so dated already, and quite the usual horror/monster massacre flick. An small Irish town finds itself in a bloodbath when a farmer unknowingly frees an ancient monster demon from his tomb. My main complaint with this film is that they really didn't try to fill in the plot at all, just started the rampage...and the end isn't really explained very well either, might leave you confused a bit. However, if you like monster flicks, you will like Rawhead Rex, and it was one of Clive Barker's first horror films. I found it to be very similar to other 70's-80s-era Horror movies like Prophecy, Pumpkinhead, and An American Werewolf in London.

Under Neon Movie Reviews: 'The Guard' (2011)

This was actually quite a funny and good action-comedy flick. A sarcastic rural Irish cop finds himself in the middle of an international drug smuggling operation when the FBI come through his small town. I always appreciate Don Cheadle's acting range, as he has the ability to add that extra level to any movie he is in. Check it out, its a good mix of action, drama, and comedy.

Great 80s space parasite zombie movie! If you like cheese-ball 80s horror flicks, you will love Night of the Creeps. Check out the movie poster above to read the hilarious quote that made the movie all worth it. Yet again, this is one of those movies that looks scary, but is really quite silly and humorous. Check it out, you'll never look at leeches the same way again.

Wowsers!!! I waited entirely too long to finally watch this 80s vampire classic! Teenaged Charlie Brewster gets in trouble with his new neighbor Jerry Dandridge, after discovering that Jerry is actually a vampire. Its not a serious movie, but it tries to be at some points, and then doesn't at others. Definitely, if you are a vampire movie fan you have to see this one, its an 80s staple, and they made a remake, so don't mistake it for the original please.
