Song of the Day = 'Growing Up Alone' by Philadelphia Grand Jury

Today's song is...Growing Up Alone, by Australian indie-rock group Philadelphia Grand Jury are a 3-piece band from Sydney, Australia but who are now based in the UK. They consist of band members Simon Berckelman, Joel Beeson, and latest addition Calvin Welch on drums. Growing Up Alone comes off of their 2009 release album titled Hope is For Hopers. I have posted a couple previous song by these artists because I think they are quite good, and they deserve some more airplay. They have also released a more recent album in October 2010 titled Hope is for the Hopeless, which I would also recommend checking out if you like this album. The only youtube videos available seem to be live gigs, so that is what is below, and I would recommend listening to the recorded version so you can hear the song properly, bam!

This song was released as a single from their new album titled Hope is for the Hopeless, and this single was released in August 2010. Also, be sure to take note that this song is still available as a free mp3 download at the following web-page, and like all of the other posts I have made of free mp3 downloads, yes, it is a legal download and in fact the band wants to their stuff out there, so there. VJ Samsonite's New Music Song of the Day is...

..."I Don't Want to Party (Party)," by Aussie indie rock duo Philadelphia Grand Jury. Yes, I know the name makes them sound American, but they ain't, this duo hails at us from their sunny + beachy hometown of Sydney, Australia. In fact I realized that these first 3 new music posts I have done are quite diverse, in terms of the band's countries of origin, and thus I will make sure that tomorrow's new song comes from a band from yet another country. Getting back to the "Philly Jays," they are quite a talented duo with a fresh new rock sound and clearly have talent. This song is my favorite by them yet, and they keep on impressing me all of the time. The album, called "Hope is for Hopers," came out last year and hit number 34 on the ARIA albums chart. This Aussie duo deserves some coverage and some airtime for sure, check out the song below (sorry no video to this one yet):
