Under Neon Movie Reviews: "Heights" (2005)

Movie: Heights
Rating: 6/10 Stars ******
Year: 2005

This was a mildy interesting movie about an interconnected group of New Yorkers and their relationships. This is sort of a drama/comedy and is another of those 6 degrees of separation type movies. If you dig that then check this one out.

Under Neon Movie Reviews: 'Wilby Wonderful' (2004)

Movie: Wilby Wonderful
Year: 2004
Rating:  6.9/10 Stars ******'
Interesting movie, with more Canadian actors/actresses that I had no idea were actually Canadian to begin with, that must be part of my American programming, to just figure that any good new musician or actor must be American, to usually find out they are actually aren't, which is probably why they have talent. Anyways, this one is about a small Nova Scotia town, some bored and lonely people who find ways to create drama in their lives and relationships despite the quaintness of their rural lifestyles. Kind of slow, but worth watching once.

Sneaks' Movie Reviews: 'Hellboy' (2004)

My Rating: 7/10 Stars *******
Yes, I know, I am still way behind on my movies list, so once again will try to post more reviews to catch up with what I've been watching (and so many good ones too), but no more than one per day. Hellboy was quite a bit better than I expected it to be. A sci-fi action flick about Hellboy (comic book character) who, along with his team of special beings has to face monsters and villains from all time periods to save the world from destruction and demonic invasion. Definitely check this one out if you are looking for some sci-fi action/comedy to watch. Its kind of too good to miss, so just make sure you watch it at some point :) Hard to believe its an 8 year old movie already!

The Last Days Of House: 'Sunny' by Boogie Pimps (2004)

Now for another edition of The Last Days Of House, and today we have German-electronic/house group Boogie Pimps and their 2004 release hit track Sunny. Boogie Pimps is a collaboration between DJs Mark J Klak and Mirko Jacob which began in 2000 out of Erfurt, Germany. Sunny was a cover-version of the original 1966 song by American singer/songwriter Bobby Hebb, and the Boogie Pimps version would reach #10 on the UK charts, and #23 on the Australian charts. I was surprised to see that the original radio-edit of this song isn't available as a digital download on either ITunes or Amazon, but their hit house-cover of Somebody to Love is, so you can check that out, although it will probably appear in a future post here. Til next time, and lets hope for some more sun too!

Mentionable Mashups: 'Word Up This Way' by Marc Johnce (2011)

Its been awhile since I posted any mashups, so Mentionable Mashups returns from holiday to present you with the latest track Word Up This Way, by Nuremburg-based mashup producer Marc Johnce. This mashup involves the 2011 released #1 hit Born This Way, by the Empress of Pop Lady Gaga, and it has been brilliantly mashed together with 2004 cover song Word Up! by American nu-metal band Korn, both songs that I recommend checking out on their own as well. If you like what you hear you can head over to Marc Johnce's website HERE, or head over to Mashuptown for more mashups HERE.

The Last Days of House: 'The Weekend' by Michael Gray (2004)

The Last Days of House returns with this weeks track by British DJ/producer Michael Gray his 2004 hit track The Weekend. Michael Gray began his career as a British-house DJ as well as a renown remixer in the 1990's. The Weekend (featuring vocals by Shena) was released in the UK in 2004 where it would hit #7 on the UK Singles Chart, and made the Top 10 in Australia and in a few countries in Europe as well. Fragrance Review for 'Allure Homme Sport' Cologne For Men (2004)

Fragrance = Allure Homme Sport for men (2004)
Brand = Chanel
Rating = 5/5

Now, I have many favorite fragrances, and I will review them all, but Allure Homme Sport (Eau de Toilette) for men is one of my favorite favorites for sure.This pungent and sporty fragrance was introduced by Chanel in 2004 and it is one that will most definitely announce your presence when you enter a room. This brilliant fragrance lasts all day long, so I recommend it to those of you who are looking to receive comments on how good you smell and also who want one that lasts (T'is not for the timid or subtle). It has been described as containing cedar, orange, aqua, white musk, amber, and tonka bean...so basically you have to smell it, and it is most definitely sporty, casual, or dressy. I highly recommend this fragrance to those who want to noticed.

Brief Movie Review for "Me and You and Everyone We Know" (2004)

 3/5 Stars ***
Definitely not a formula movie, and reminds me a bit of the same kind of awkward tension and humor that was in Napolean Dynamite, but quite a bit less comedic. The people are definitely not glamorous personas, but more like true-to-life awkward and lonely people. I wouldn't watch it again but it may be worth checking out if you are into the indie-genre.
