Your Weekly Song Post: 'Animalia' by Voltaire Twins (2011)

This week's song post (yes it has changed from the daily to now weekly post..fyi) goes to Australian indie-dance group Voltaire Twins and their song Animalia. The Voltaire Twins are an indie-dance/new-wave group out of Perth, Australia who have been active on the music scene circa 2008 and consists of siblings/members Tegan and Jaymes, as well as a live 4-piece group with additional members Matt and Jacky. Animalia is a single off of the group's EP of the same title, which was released in the US on August 19th, 2011. Your Weekly Song Post: 'I Feel Better' by Gotye (2011)

The daily song post has been turing into the weekly or bi-weekly post as of late due to my being busy, so this week's first feature song is I Feel Better by Australian musician Gotye. Gotye (Wouter De Backer) is multi-instrumental musician originally from Belgium but who now identifies himself as Australian and has been active in the music scene circa 2001. He is also one of the primary members of Melbourne-based pop-band The Basics. I Feel Better is a single off of his latest album Making Mirrors, which was released on August 19th, 2011. I really like the 50's-60's sound he has captured as well as the Catalan-sounding horns at the beginning of the song. Today's feature song is Silverspoon, by Australian indie/psychedelic band Sonpsilo Circus. Sonpsilo Circus is a indie-psych-soul band out of Perth, Australia and consisting of members Peters Gowers, Benjamino McDonald, and Mitch McDonalds who formed the band back in 2009. Silverspoon is a single off of the group's debut self-titled 7-track album Sonpsilo Circus ,which was released on August 13th, 2011.
