The Weekly Music Post: 'Joseph' by Greyjoy (2012)

This week's song post goes to Australian indie-pop group Greyjoy and their track Joseph. Greyjoy are a relatively new Perth-based indie-pop group consisting of members Karlin Courtney (guitar and vocals), Matt Crockett (keyboards), Jeremy Mulligan (bass guitar), Jake Webb (guitar), and Sam Maher (drums). Joseph is one of the group's first singles and it may or may not appear on their first album/ep which is yet to be announced, though the group is starting to tour this June of 2012. Your Weekly Music Post: 'Magic' by Panama (2012)

Welcome back to another weekly music post! This week I present to you Australian electronica band Panama, and their hot new single Magic. Panama are a Sydney-based 4-piece electronica-pop group consisting of members Jarrah McCleary (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Cam Edwards (bass guitar, keyboards, vocals), Trevor Davies (guitar, percussion, vocals), and Lachlan West (drums, vocals). They have that great electronic sound filled with delightful blips and beeps that we all love, and if you like other electro-bands like Strange Talk or Miami Horror you will dig Panama. Your Weekly Song: 'Twin Rays' by Gung Ho (2011)

This week's feature song goes to Australian indie-pop band Gung Ho, and their track Twin Rays. Gung Ho are a Brisbane-based indie band consisting of members Oliver Duncan (bass guitar and vocals), Michael McAlary (guitar and vocals), and James Wright (drums and vocals). Twin Rays is a single release by the band, and it was released in digital form on November 7th, 2011, so you can find it on ITunes. Your Song of the Week: 'Barcelona' by Tinpan Orange (2011)

The song of the week is in, and it goes to Australian indie-roots band Tinpan Orange, and their song Barcelona. Tinpan Orange originate out of Melbourne, Australia and consists of band members  Emily Lubitz (vocals and guitar),  Jesse Lubitz (guitar and vocals), Alex Burkoy (violin, mandolin, and guitars), Harry Angus (keyboards and trumpet), and Danny Farrugia (drums). Your Weekly Song Post: 'Lay It Down' by The Rubens (2011)

This week's song post goes to Australian indie-blues-soul-rock band The Rubens and their song Lay It Down. The Rubens are an indie-rock band hailing out of Menangle, NSW Australia, which was formed in February 2011, and consists of members Zaac Margin (guitar), Elliott Margin (vocals and keyboards), Sam Margin, (guitar and vocals), and Scott Baldwin (drums). I only discovered this band recently and really dig their sound and energy, and if you are keen on artists such as the Black Keys, or Cold War Kids then you will definitely like The Rubens. Your Weekly Song Post: 'Everyone Knows' by Messrs (2011)

This week's feature song goes to Australian indie-dance-electronica group Messrs, and their song Everyone Knows. Messrs (formerly The Touch) are a five-piece indie-dance-pop group from Adelaide, Australia, who have been active for a few years now and consists of members Josh (vocals and percussion),  Shane (guitar, synths, vocals),  Chad (drums),  Justin (guitar, synths), and Craig (bass guitar). Everyone Knows is single off of their latest EP of the same name, which was released on October 7th, 2011 and contains a few different mixes of the song. I really dig their sound, and they are similar to other Australian indie-pop-electro acts such as Strange Talk, Gold Fields, and Cut Copy...so if you like any of those acts you are sure to like Messrs. Your Weekly Song Post: 'Animalia' by Voltaire Twins (2011)

This week's song post (yes it has changed from the daily to now weekly post..fyi) goes to Australian indie-dance group Voltaire Twins and their song Animalia. The Voltaire Twins are an indie-dance/new-wave group out of Perth, Australia who have been active on the music scene circa 2008 and consists of siblings/members Tegan and Jaymes, as well as a live 4-piece group with additional members Matt and Jacky. Animalia is a single off of the group's EP of the same title, which was released in the US on August 19th, 2011. Your Daily Feature: 'What Am I Supposed To Do?' by Sietta (2011)

Your Daily Feature track for today is What Am I Supposed To Do? by Australian electronic-soul duo Sietta. Sietta is the duo of James Mangohig (producer/instrumentalist) and Caiti Baker (vocalist) and they originate out of Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia. Now its interesting because when I first heard this song I thought it was a new Beyonce song, but turns out its this great new duo from Darwin! Your Daily Feature: 'Run' by Elke (2010)

Today's daily feature track is called Run, and its by Australian indie-electro band Elke. Elke, which consists of members Zack, Joel, Dave, Jim, and Jesse have been making music together since 2007. They originate out of the Brisbane, Queensland region of Australia, and they in my opinion they are severely under-rated, and I find it shocking that they haven't been signed by a major label. This band also operates as the band Dolphins, which does mostly indie-surfie style rock, which is also incredible stuff that I recommend checking out! Featured Song Of The Day = 'Simple Man (feat. Daniel Merriweather)' by Diafrix (2011)

Today's featured song is Simple Man (feat. Daniel Merriweather) by Australian hip-hop duo Diafrix. Diafrix consists primarily of the Melbourne-based duo Khaled “Azmarino” Abdulwahab and Mohamed “Momo” Komba, both of whom were refugees from their home countries who immigrated to Australia at a young age. They have since made their mark on the Australian hip-hop music scene having made an extensive career on the Aussie live-music festival scene, as well as music tours all over Europe. Simple Man is a new single release by the group, released on April 4th, 2011, and featuring the guest vocals of Australian R-and-B-singer Daniel Merriweather. Feature Song Of The Day = 'Fall At Your Feet' by Boy And Bear (2010)

Today's featured song is Fall At Your Feet by Australian indie-folk band Boy And Bear. Boy And Bear started out in Sydney Australia in 2009 originally as a solo-project by Dave Hosking who was later was joined by Jake Tarasenko, Killian Gavin, and Tim Hart, all members that have since contributed as singers and songwriters in the group. Fall At Your Feet is a cover version of the original 1992 song by Aussie/Kiwi band Crowded House. The Boy And Bear cover version was released in November of 2010 on a Finn Brothers covers album titled He Will Have His Way, so you can find it there. Stonefield consists of 4 sisters Amy Findlay (lead vocals and drums), Hannah Findlay (guitar), Sarah Findlay (keys and vocals), and Holly Findlay (bass guitar) and who are based out of Melbourne Australia. The song of the day is....Let You Down, by Australian four-piece indie-pop band Hungry Kids of Hungary. Hungry Kids of Hungary formed back in 2007, they originate out of Brisbane, Australia, and they consist of Dean McGrath (lead vocals, guitar), Kane Mazlin (vocals and keyboards), Ben Dalton (bass guitar and vocals) and Ryan Strathie (drums and vocals). Let You Down is a single release which comes off of their debut studio album titled Escapades, which was released on October 1st, 2010. Featured Song of The Day = 'Half Of It' by YesYou (2011)

Today's feature song is Half Of It, by Australian dance-pop duo YesYou. YesYou are a Brisbane-based duo consisting of Jono Kirkham and Gav Parry who began producing music collaborations in 2010. Half Of It is the duo's first single-release, which features James O'Brien (from indie-band The Boat People) and the St Margaret's Anglican Girls' School Choir. Word on the street is they are looking to produce a full-on dance-pop album with many musical collaborations so looking forward to that! Feature Song Of The Day = 'Everywhere' by Tim and Jean (2011)

Today's Feature Song is Everywhere, by Australian indie-electro-pop duo Tim and Jean. Tim and Jean are Tim Ayre and Jean Capotorto who come out of Perth, Western Australia. They started up a MySpace page and ended up entering Triple J's Unearthed High School competition for unsigned bands, in which they made it to the finals with the song Come Around. They were later then selected to by that radio station to play at the Parklife Festival. Everywhere is actually a cover single-release by Tim and Jean of the original Fleetwood Mac song. Feature Song Of The Day = 'Here She Comes' by Skipping Girl Vinegar (2011)

Today's song goes to another great Melbourne-based group called Skipping Girl Vinegar, and recently released song their song Here She Comes. Skipping Girl Vinegar are an indie-roots band that have been active on the Australian-music scene circa 2006, they are based out of Melbourne, Australia, and consist of members are Chris Helm (drums and bv), Mark Lang (vocals and guitar), Sare Lang (bass, bv) and Amanthi Lynch (keys and bv). According to the band's wikipedia page they are named after an animated neon-sign of Audrey the Skipping Girl located in Abbotsford, Victoria. Here She Comes was released as a single on February 24th, 2011 and can be purchased/previewed on ITunes HERE. I had the pleasure to see this group live in Melbourne in 2008 and was impressed by how good they sound live, definitely check out their other songs too.
