The Weekly Music Post: 'Joseph' by Greyjoy (2012)

This week's song post goes to Australian indie-pop group Greyjoy and their track Joseph. Greyjoy are a relatively new Perth-based indie-pop group consisting of members Karlin Courtney (guitar and vocals), Matt Crockett (keyboards), Jeremy Mulligan (bass guitar), Jake Webb (guitar), and Sam Maher (drums). Joseph is one of the group's first singles and it may or may not appear on their first album/ep which is yet to be announced, though the group is starting to tour this June of 2012. Song Post of the Week: 'Open Heart Surgery' by Beth Ditto (2011)

This week's feature song is Open Heart Surgery, by American singer-songwriter Beth Ditto. Beth Ditto (Mary Beth Patterson) is based out of Portland, Oregon, USA (originally from Searcy, Arkansas, USA) and is most well known for her work with indie-rock group Gossip. Your Weekly Song: 'Twin Rays' by Gung Ho (2011)

This week's feature song goes to Australian indie-pop band Gung Ho, and their track Twin Rays. Gung Ho are a Brisbane-based indie band consisting of members Oliver Duncan (bass guitar and vocals), Michael McAlary (guitar and vocals), and James Wright (drums and vocals). Twin Rays is a single release by the band, and it was released in digital form on November 7th, 2011, so you can find it on ITunes. Your Weekly Song Post: 'Everyone Knows' by Messrs (2011)

This week's feature song goes to Australian indie-dance-electronica group Messrs, and their song Everyone Knows. Messrs (formerly The Touch) are a five-piece indie-dance-pop group from Adelaide, Australia, who have been active for a few years now and consists of members Josh (vocals and percussion),  Shane (guitar, synths, vocals),  Chad (drums),  Justin (guitar, synths), and Craig (bass guitar). Everyone Knows is single off of their latest EP of the same name, which was released on October 7th, 2011 and contains a few different mixes of the song. I really dig their sound, and they are similar to other Australian indie-pop-electro acts such as Strange Talk, Gold Fields, and Cut Copy...so if you like any of those acts you are sure to like Messrs. Your Daily Song: 'You Know What I Mean' by Cults (2011)

Today's daily feature is a song called You Know What I Mean, by Manhattan-based indie-pop band Cults. Cults started out in 2010 with New York University-collegues and duo Brian Oblivion (vocals, guitar, and percussion) and Madeline Follin (vocals) who rose to fame with the release of their digital 3-track EP in 2010. You Know What I Mean comes off of their debut self-titled studio-album Cults, which was released on June 7th, 2011 and is still pretty fresh. Head over to their website HERE for more music and info.

Your Daily Feature: 'West Coast' by Coconut Records (2007)

Your daily feature song for today is.... and I know they haven't been to daily lately, but its Summer folks ;-) ...West Coast by American indie rock-pop solo-act Coconut Records. Now this is an older song (5 years old already!) but its still a good one and I am always happy to post the great ones on this blog. Coconut Records started out in Los Angeles in 2006 as a solo-project of artist  Jason Schwartzman

Givers have been active since 2009, they originate out of Lafayette, Louisiana, and consists of members Tiffany Lamson (vocals and percussion), Taylor Guarisco (guitar and vocals), Kirby Campbell (drums and vocals), Josh LeBlanc (bass guitar), and Nick Stephan (saxophone, keyboards, flute). Today's feature song goes to Los Angeles-based indie-pop band Foster the People and their song I Would Do Anything For You. The band has been active on the American music scene circa 2009, and it consists of members Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Zach “Reazon” Heiligman (MPC), Mark Pontius (drums), and Cubbie Fink (bass guitar, vocals). I Would Do Anything For You comes off of their debut album Torches, just released on May 23rd, 2011.

Feature Song = 'Contact High' by Architecture In Helsinki (2011)

Today's feature song goes to Australian indie-pop/avant-garde band Architecture In Helsinki and their song Contact High. Architecture In Helsinki are a Melbourne-based indie-pop group who've been active since on the music scene since 2000 and includes members Cameron Bird, Gus Franklin, Jamie Mildren, Sam Perry, and Kellie Sutherland. Contact High is a single just released on April 5th, 2011 and which will appear on their upcoming Moment Bends album also due out on May 3rd, 2011. Today's feature song is Golden Revolver, by Australian indie-pop band San Cisco. San Cisco originate out of Freemantle in Western Australia and consists of members Jordi James (guitar, vocals, and keyboards), Josh Biondillo (guitar, vocals, and keyboards),  Nick Gardner (bass guitar and keyboards), and Scarelett Stevens (drums).
