Your Daily Feature: 'Run' by Elke (2010)

Today's daily feature track is called Run, and its by Australian indie-electro band Elke. Elke, which consists of members Zack, Joel, Dave, Jim, and Jesse have been making music together since 2007. They originate out of the Brisbane, Queensland region of Australia, and they in my opinion they are severely under-rated, and I find it shocking that they haven't been signed by a major label. This band also operates as the band Dolphins, which does mostly indie-surfie style rock, which is also incredible stuff that I recommend checking out! Run comes off of the groups latest EP release simply A and B. You can check out most if not all of that EP at their Soundcloud site HERE, and if you just want some more artist info and such then head over to their website HERE.   Run by elkeband

Feature Song of the Day = 'Till Im Gone' by Elke

Today's feature song is Till I'm Gone by 5-piece Australian indie-electro band Elke. I have posted songs by Elke (and by their side project band Dolphins)before on this vlog, but I will give a bit of info nonetheless...They are from Brisbane, Australia and they started out as a weekend recording band back in 2007, and band members first names are Zack, Joel, Dave, Jim, and Jesse . Till I'm Gone comes off of their Blue Dream Lover EP, which was their first body of work, and it was on ITunes store, but upon a current search it appears that ITunes (the US-store anyway) has taken this EP off their database?? If you want a little more info on the band you can check out their Myspace page HERE, and even find some free and legal mp3 downloads at their Unearthed page HERE.

Song for November 16th, 2010: "Girl" by Dolphins

The song for today is...Girl, by 3-piece Australian surf-garage-rock band Dolphins. Dolphins is a side project of the Gold Coast based indie-electro band Elke, consisting of band members Zack, Joel, and Jesse from that very same band. They call themselves a "band for the summer", which they no doubt live up to. I personally really like all of the musical works of Elke, and so I am stoked to hear them continuing to come up with new works, including side-projects such as Dolphins. In my opinion they are a highly under-rated band and its time they got some serious radio-play!! For more info on this band you can check out their website HERE where you can listen to/download a free mp3 of this very song and more. Also be sure to check out their myspace page HERE, and their Elke unearthed page HERE. Also, do note that you can find Elke's Blue Dream Lover EP for purchase on itunes in the US store, and if you are in Australia you can probably get more but I wouldn't know as I am limited to the US store thanks to location, itunes seriously needs to change that but I suppose it has to do with trade agreements or something like that. Enjoy Dolphins!

Song of the Day for October 6th, 2010: "Soldier" by Elke (2010)

And the song of the day is....Soldier, by Australian 5-piece indie-electro-rock band Elke. This song is about Australian soldiers in present day Afghanistan conflict. Elke formed back in 2007 as a weekend recording band in the sunny city of Brisbane, Queensland (aka Bris-Vegas).  I don't have too much more information about the song or the band other than what I was able to find at this page (note that this song a and a few other Elke songs are available for free download here as well). Alas, youtube doesn't have this song posted quite yet, so if you wish to hear it go to the link in the previous sentence or check out some of their other songs and info at their myspace page here. The video was made by someone personally showing some imagery of war and some not so serious imagery as well, and occasional shots of the band.
