He later formed a band called Devin and the Little Angels. You're Mine is a track off of his EP of the same title, which was released on November 15th, 2011. Song of the Day for October 20th, 2010: "Lions In Cages" by Wolf Gang

The song is....Lions In Cages by English musician Wolf Gang. Wolf Gang is the stage name for musician Max McElligott from London, UK. He is the son of a historian and violinist, as well as having graduated from the London School of Economics. Wolf Gang, as you may have noticed also adds a unique artistic twist to his music videos and to his stage persona, and he hasn't received much play in the USA as far as I can tell, but he definitely has some great talent and melodies, and that is sort of the purpose of this website after all, to put some new refreshing energy out there for people to have access to (stuff one might not hear, or perhaps will hear, on the top 50 radio stations in their particular locale). For more info on Wolf Gang check out his website here, or his myspace page here.

Song of the Day for September 26th, 2010: "Stand Tall" by Dirty Heads

And the song of the day is...Stand Tall by American reggae-rock band Dirty Heads. Dirty Heads consist of members Jared Watson, Dustin "Duddy" Bushnell, Jon Olazabal, Matt Ochoa, and David Foral and they are based out of Huntington Beach, California. Stand Tall came off of their 2008 debut album release titled Any Port in a Storm and it was featured in a Sony Pictures film called Surf's Up. This album would peak at #55 on the US Album Chart in 2008. This band has a laid-back beachy sound, no doubt about that, and yet they also contain some elements of indie rock which makes for an interesting blend, I highly recommend checking out their album.

And the "Hot New Music" song of the day is....

...One Horse Town, by Irish indie rock band The Thrills. The Thrills formed in the mid 1990's in Dublin, Ireland and they consist of lead vocalist Conor Deasy, guitarist Daniel Ryan, guitarist and bass player Padraic McMahon, pianist Kevin Horan and drummer Ben Carrigan. The Thrills certainly have a unique sound, and One Horse Town comes off of their So Much for the City album (released in May of 2003), which makes this a not so new song or album (7 years old already!), so it is definitely not a new song, but it might be new to you. Definitely check out the rest of the album and enjoy The Thrills.

#98: of VJ Samsonite's Top 100 80's Dance Hits Countdown!

Welcome back to VJ Samsonite's top 100 80's Dance Hits Countdown! Today we are presenting #98 of the top 100 countdown! And the song is....Bad Medicine, by the Big-80's-Big-Hair U.S. Rock Band Bon Jovi! I must say that this song is probably my favourite one by Bon Jovi, but you never know, more Bon Jovi songs may or may not appear again on this Countdown, you'll just have to wait and see. There is no doubt that Bon Jovi had many great rock anthems, this much is for sure. Bon Jovi formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey, and of course the lead singer, song-writer, and actor is John Bon Jovi. Like #99, John Bon Jovi earned a few awards, including and Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his work. As for the rest of the band, there is guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, and bassist Hugh Mcdonald. This particular song comes off of their New Jersey album (released originally in September of 1988), which produced 5 Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles, which is the most top tens for a rock album to date (according to Wikipedia). What else to say???  Not much, but do be sure to check out Wikipedia or All Music for all your trivia needs on Bon Jovi, after all you might just win some beer or something at your local pub. Thus without further ado, here is the song!

VJ Samsonite's New Music Song of the Day is...

The song for today is called "Home," by Folk-Rock band, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. This band comes at us from Los Angeles, in the good ole USofA. Don't be surprised now if you don't see many US bands on here, but then again I might be wrong, who knows what could be posted next... Now this band is a delightful "ensemble," (I mean that literally) who tells a good story with their music (as most do), but this band does an exceptional job at it and I reckon they deserve some credit for it. This very same song was ranked number 15 on Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2009 (the largest music poll in the world from a brilliant Australian Radio Station), and it comes off of their first full-length record "Up from Below." Asi que, without further ado, I give you Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes:
