Featured Song of the Day = 'Wilson' by The Salvadors

Today's featured song is Wilson by Adelaide based Australian indie-pop group The Salvadors. The Salvadors consist of first names only Tom ( vocals/guitar), Eddy (guitar), Jeff (bass guitar), Eugine (drums), and Cat (keyboards). The Salvadors certainly are making waves in Oz, and I recommend you check out this song as well as their others, which incidentally are available on ITunes and Amazon right now. Wilson is a more recent single, released in November, 2010. If you like what you heart I would also recommend that you to go to their Unearthed Page HERE for more band info as well as the fact that there are still some free and legal MP3 downloads by the Salvadors available on that page as well. Also, be sure to check out their Myspace page HERE. Everytime I hear the name Wilson, it makes me think of that Tom Hanks movie and the volleyball he names Wilson...I know, I know...just enjoy the song everybody. Misspent Youth Ep

Song of the Day for September 16th, 2010: "In the Fire" by Mammoth Logic

And the song is...In the Fire by South Australian electronica duo Mammoth Logic. Now I know that I just posted one by them last week, but I was so impressed by their sound that I had to post another one straight away, so there. Mammoth Logic consists of Dave Crowe & Reid Jones, and they come out of the city of Adelaide, in South Australia. The electronic duo have been described as a mix of 'futuristic pop' with 'French-electro' with post-punk-rock, which is quite a mix indeed. This song came out just in the past few months of this year (2010), and they are set to release an album, so keep your eyes peeled for that. If you like the song then you should take note that it is currently available as a free MP3 download at this link here. Hasta MaƱana!

And the "Hot New Music" song of the day is....

...You've Changed, by Australian singer/songwriter Sia (short for Sia Furler). Sia arises out of Adelaide in South Australia, and has been classified by wikipedia as an acid-jazz/pop/trip-hop artist, so she must have quite a range. I personally am not that familiar with her work, but she has also worked with other acts, such as Zero 7 which would classify her in the trippy genre for sure. She has produced 3 studio albums and You've Changed comes off of her We Are Born album, just released this month of June 2010..now where can I get myself one of them panda hats??

VJ Samsonite's "Hot New Music" song of the day is....

...Chase That Feeling, by Aussie Hip-Hop group the Hilltop Hoods. The Hilltop Hoods hail at us out of Adelaide, Australia. They are ARIA Award winners, and have been on top of the Aussie Hip-Hop scene since the early 1990's. Now I really like this groups style and sound, they have a unique hip-hop style that adds a bit of "flava" to their music, along with the foreign accent makes it flow. Chase that Feeling comes off of their State of the Art album (released in June 2009). For those who have never heard of them definitely check out their other stuff, they have released 5 studio albums so they have been a prolific group. I personally would also like to recommend their past album which made them big in Oz  titled The Calling (released in 2003), which features their two past hit singles The Nosebleed Section, and Dumb Enough. Check it!
